The air conditioner filter is one of the most important filters in the car, because it works to purify the air entering the cockpit, so that the driver and passengers enjoy clean and fresh air away from dust and dirt, and it also helps the air conditioner work with high efficiency.
However, with the passage of time, the filter may become clogged as a result of the accumulation of dirt and dust in it, which leads to a lack of efficiency of the air conditioner and not cooling it as required, in addition to the appearance of unpleasant odors in the car.
Car experts recommend changing the air conditioner filter if it is clogged, but it is economically preferable to clean the filter and continue to use it until the end of its life span, so today we offer you steps to clean your car’s air conditioner filter yourself at home, as follows:
Remove the air conditioner filter from inside its box, you will find it easy to remove, and it will not take several minutes, because there are no additional clips or barriers to install the filter in its position inside the case.
Use a vacuum cleaner to extract dust outside the car.
Fill a bowl with warm water mixed with some kind of liquid cleaning detergent.
Immerse the filter in the liquid while moving it gently to get rid of the dust and dirt in it.
After removing the filter from the mixture, wash it with water using a spray hose.
